Our 6-Week Australia Travel Guide (January–February 2026)

Australia had been on our list for years, and we finally made it happen in January 2026 — timed around the Australian Open in Melbourne. What started as a tennis trip turned into a six-week adventure across six incredible destinations: Melbourne, Adelaide, Kangaroo Island, Sydney, the Sunshine Coast, and Cairns.

We saw wild koalas and kangaroos on Kangaroo Island, snorkelled the Great Barrier Reef out of Cairns, held a koala at Steve Irwin's Australia Zoo in Beerwah, and swam in the iconic Bondi Icebergs pool in Sydney.
